About the College
Government Polytechnic College, Purapuzha is one of the major Technical institutions in Idukki district situated at Purapuzha, Thodupuzha. It functions along with other educational institutions in Central Travancore, which carries a creditable record of supplying several technicians and a group of talented persons to the nation.
Government Polytechnic College, Purapuzha was established in the year 2000 which came as an upgradation of a Technical High School, which had been functioning here since 2000. Located in a rural area on a hillock, the scenic beauty and serenity of the surroundings appear most suited for academic pursuits.
The institution stands less than one kilometer from Purapuzha junction, which is only 9 km away from Thodupuzha. Regular bus services on this major route between Thodupuzha and Vazhithala make the journey to the College quite easy.
At present, the institution operates from a campus of 15 acres at Purapuzha, Thodupuzha. This institution offers three year diploma programmes in three major disciplines of Engineering / Technology (Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering) under the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Kerala.
The institution is approved by the ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION, NEW DELHI.
